Stephanie Diederich graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2008. She has been an artist since she picked up a crayon, an Adobe user since she owned a computer, and a professional artist for the last six years. The following is her catch-all bio: “My life has been a struggle to find the mean between being true to myself, living up to my own standards, making the world a better place, living out life in a socially acceptable way, and giving in to the temptation to ignore any of the above in order to stay sane”.

Stephanie Diederich logos

First – Spider Records, 2003

This logo is recreated from scratch after a logo I designed in a summer digital studio class. The image I have is a low-resolution jpeg from a scanned printout, and it is tricked out with a humiliating degree of digital bells and whistles I will not bare on the internet for everyone to see. It was my first time using Illustrator. I wanted to capture the silhouette of a spider and the shape of a vinyl record in one image.

Favorite – Olney Chamber of Commerce Community Night, 2009

had difficulty deciding on a favorite. I settled on this design because I feel it is the most successful of my logos, in that I was fully satisfied with it aesthetically, and the client was fully satisfied with its ability to communicate. This logo is a redesign – every year, the OCC has an event, and this year was their 30th anniversary, so they wanted something special. The logo consistently features a light bulb and eating utensils. I decided to make custom type overlaid with the features of the logo and the title of the event.
